People brag about reading all the time and then come to find out it's all audiobooks. Sorry, that isn't reading. That is listening. The differences are obvious. You did not read Atomic Habits while doing kettlebell circuit training. The exception is if you are dyslexic or something, THEN it counts, otherwise it does NOT count

Only someone too dumb to engage here would make this distinction. A book is a book is a book. At IQ 140 plus you should be reading AND listening to audiobooks when you can’t read. And you shouldn’t care about what “counts” as reading. Only dumbasses would care about documenting the “strain” of reading which should be second nature to you anyway.

i'm no reading snob, but OP is totally CR. listening is way more passive than reading, and it's much easier for your mind to wander and miss a lot of shit by listening to some audio book. lol @ thinking you're giving the book 100% attention while you're trying to change lanes in a crowded freeway.

listening is okay for background noise, but it's just much more passive.

yeah, i'm not gonna knock anyone who does audiobooks. it's obviously better than listening to charlamagne the god on the radio when you're in the car. i just think you're limited in what you can get out of an audiobook. and on a difficult subject, an audiobook doesnt even make sense.
