Im conscious that when i do partake i become so overwhelmingly paranoid and anxious that i can barely function. Wasnt like that when i was younger. However, what i think happened was it built up some crippling neural pathways totally incompatible with my current persona as a Senior Ethics Official and which are activated by imbibing. In short, seems really stupid now to me to medicate with this drug which is incompatible with functioning at a high level.

With that said I have noticed that today's weed is quite addictive and makes me lazier even when I'm not stoned.
I've started to cut back significantly on the weed and have noticed increased motivation but it did wonders for me in terms of getting off alcohol...
I used to just white knuckle it through 3 days of sobriety so I could drink 6-8 beers a night for the next 4 nights without my wife labeling me an alcoholic. Weed essentially removed those cravings completely and mellowed me out significantly. |
