After the fact, many rules can be deduced about proper thinking and behavior. However, the human being is unable to simply follow the rules to attain a proper religious disposition. They must live as Christ lived, and discover the true meaning of Christianity in their own life. With respect, e.g., to peace, one must battle their own violent demons and will, on many occasions, become possessed by them. Only through the process of dying with Christ in our own lives are these demons overcome, and will the individual understand the true meaning of peace. The same can be true of, e.g., love of neighbor. We cannot love our neighbors if we do not first accept that we hate them.
