Today I stood in aisle 7, between the oat milk and gluten-free pancake mix, and realized I’m the manager now (for years).
My employees look at me for guidance. Customers ask me where the "ethical" eggs are. The weight of it all?
Crushing.
Corporate sent a "MEMO" this morning. No more single-stall bathrooms. They say it’s about "efficiency." But what about dignity? What about the moments I steal away in that small, quiet room to cry and whisper, “Yes, friend. It’s fine.”
It’s not fine. Nothing is fine.
