how long did it take you?

mainly interstates, or some slower more pleasant secondary roads?

big picture of your route?

Took 5 days. Went from Ohio, through Kentucky, western TN, SE MO, AR, Texas (Texarkana to El Paso), Las Cruces, Tucson, Phoenix. Probably went through some rezs. It was all interstates other than minor deviations to see people.

Pleasure drive or were you on a mission.

What were you driving.

No. 1 place you'd suggest visiting based on your drive.

Funniest thing you saw on your trip.

Mission to get to AZ. F-150. A couple of places are interesting and merit further exploration: the bourbon area around Bardstown in KY and Las Cruces.

Funniest thing that happened on the trip was that when we stopped in my small home town to visit I went into the local post office to mail a letter for my wife and check my friend's PO box (she is 93 and asked me to do it so she could avoid walking up the rain slick stairs). A middle aged black gentleman, who looked and sounded quite normal, asked me where to mail letters. I pointed him to the place. He thanked me and said it was the first time he had ever been in a post office. It's that kind of place.

It was all interstates. It was our annual migration to AZ for the winter. We drive in order to take a bunch of crap that my insists is critical, plus we enjoy road trips. Stopped to visit friends along the way in three different places.
