Is "Jewish Humor" (Seinfeld, LD, Allen, Mason, Brooks) Dead?

i take it to be some combination of: 1) america being so fragmented such that there's basically no mainstream entertainment and pop culture of any sort anymore, 2) non-orthodox jews being increasingly secularized over the generations in america, and there basically being no american jewish identity for non-orthodox anymore which prevents both creators and watchers of jewish humor, and 3) PC culture making it just impossible to be funny anymore. |

Humor in general is in a weird spot atm due to the political total mobilization that's been happening since '21-22 or so I'd say some of the "Weird twitter" type stuff and scuffed up jpeg rhizomatic schizomemes have roots in a disproportionately Jewish-influenced millennial cultural soup. There is a traceable albeit abstracted link between eg Mel Brooks' work and some of the out of left field visual-heavy absurdist comedy popular with Zoomers/GA. It's still there, it's just mutating at an accelerated rate |

There is not as much Triple A monolithic comedy post 2015 or so as there was in previous times The slavic folk parodies popular with Zoomers/younger millennials were rooted in a jewish humor framework ime. The popular Al-Memri joke format is at least partially a mixture of Baron Cohen type stuff and the type of humor used in the Radio Yerevan format ( pioneered by Soviet Jews iirc) |
