Her grandfather was going to give me the money to pay the bondsman but wanted me to sign the paperwork. The grandfather was a southern redneck who said "nigger" a lot. When the bondsman came, he asked for 10%. I called the grandfather and told him that he wanted 10%. The grandfather proceeded to cuss out the bondsman and said he would not pay more than 5%. The bondsman accepted 5%. So it can be done if you get an angry-sounding southern redneck on the phone. YMMV.
