the difficulty with holding people accountable for white collar crime, corruption, etc is that it's very hard to find a smoking gun and prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. if i send a bunch of money to my friend's NGO that he earns a massive salary for, is that corruption if he does provide some service? it's the same reason that there were not a lot of prosecutions during ITE even though there was a lot of bad shit happening. the threshold for proving a crime is very high and difficult to get beyond a reasonable doubt when it comes to this stuff.

fortunately, unlike libs, cons realize this and don't wind up exonerating libs in the public eye by launching failed impeachments, special counsel investigations, etc. also the appearance of politically motivated prosecutions is a bad look. but hey, thanks for giving us the trump mug shot that he put on t-shirts and plastered everywhere!

Enough time has passed that we can look back at what Musk and DOGE did. I can offer a personal perspective from my agency: cuts caused chaos, confusion, fear, and delays for most of the year. A lot of cuts DOGE made were wrong and had to be undone. The specific things I work on have been delayed by several months, mostly because of the cuts and the chaos and confusion they caused.

TLDR: Elon is an idiot, DOGE made things less efficient at my agency.
