NYCmos are actually close to the ideal tax cattle/pay-piggies/etc. they often have a strong personal desire to live in the city for status or cultural reasons, and will pay up for the privilege.
if anything, they are probably substantially undertaxed from that perspective. it makes sense to start squeezing them and charging them more of a premium for their preferences. |

Now they CAN issue bonds, but NYC would get shit rates without raising more revenue.
So the idea is that for like every new dollar you raise in taxes you can borrow 3 more and leave the next mayor to sort it out. |
