This is crypto, retard. Those of us who have been in this game for 10+ years have watched BTC fall ~80%+ on multiple occasions and stay down for months (sometimes even years) at a time. None of this is even mildly surprising... "OMG BTC is crashing" yes no shit, it does that on a regular basis and always has for its entire existence. The sun is also probably going to rise again tomorrow, IMO. Wow, that's amazing! I am truly stunned and surprised!

Here's the only point that matters to a long term speculative crypto investor: Can you identify a *single* time so far when BTC has suffered a major crash and then didn't go on to eventually rise up again and hit a brand new ATH?

Counterpoint: If I just continue to hold for now and sell in the future when BTC hits $250k or whatever, then I'll have ~$190k more per coin at that point. That seems like a much better deal, IMO.

Yeah fair point, it's not like crashes which are proportionally far worse than this one have happened in crypto literally like a dozen different times in the last decade alone, and each and every time so far BTC has recovered and gone on to hit new ATHs again... what's happening right now is totally unprecedented and we should all be freaking out and assuming that this is it, BTC is probably going to go down and stay down forever now. Makes sense IMO.

Literally none of this is "interesting" or (on a long term timescale) "matters" in any meaningful way. I'm barely even paying attention to any of this and I'm certainly not losing any sleep over it, because this crash is just more of the same and frankly in terms of proportionate losses so far it's still far from being the "worst" crypto has ever experienced. I wasn't tempted to sell any of my BTC at $125k, so who the fuck cares what price trajectory it takes between now and when it inevitably hits $1,000,000 at some point in the future and I finally start considering selling some of it? The only mildly interesting part would be if it crashed low enough that I was actually tempted to load up on more (which is possible but very unlikely) -- and we're still far away from retracing to my current cost basis in BTC, so I'm not particularly tempted to do that either right now, either.

The only remarkable thing is that somehow we're still having this discussion in 2026. "No, trust me, this time [10th time or whatever] is TRULY different [let's pretend I didn't say the exact same thing the previous 9 times and then end up getting blown the fuck out]... trust me, I know these things [even though I've literally been proven definitively wrong on every other prior occasion when this happened and my own excuse now is 'well that's different for reasons so that doesn't count' which has incidentally been my excuse every other time, as well]."
