I think "sales of new cars" figures will literally become mathematically irrelevant to Tesla's market cap and profitability within the next few years if Tesla's FSD Cybercab/Robotaxi model scales up the way it seems poised to right now.

if those examples are representative of the crashes, this news seems to be slanted. unless the "human crash" stats include every example of someone tapping a bumper when they try to parallel park. |

Even though their "robotaxis" have safety drivers, work only in a small section of Austin, and crash at 4x the rate of humans. Meanwhile, Waymo is available in far more cities, and it is far safer than human drivers. And while Zoox is only available in Vegas, it doesn't have safety drivers, and it also doesn't crash. (It should also be noted that both Waymo and Zoox are massively in the red, and neither of them has a clear path to profitability.) But somehow Elon is going to figure out a way to make the robotaxis stop crashing and clean themselves and justify TSLA's sky high valuation. Sounds like a good investment to me. Out of curiosity, since you seem to be a real expert on this topic and you're extremely confident in this assessment, how much time have you actually spent over in China experiencing BYD's FSD tech directly?
I myself have admittedly never driven a BYD, but here's the funny thing: back in September, analysts at Piper Sandler who make money by trying to accurately assess the relative strengths of different companies traveled over to China specifically to do that, and when they came back to America, they had become *extremely* bullish on Tesla:
