Mamet is also a prolific author. You can see his bibliography here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Mamet#Bibliography . According to his Wiki, he grew up the son of Jewish communists, was liberal through the first half+ of his life, then became "conservative" apparently sometime between 2005 and 2008, when he wrote the well known article "Why I Am No Longer a 'Brain-Dead Liberal". Mamet supported Trump's re-election in 2020 and called the election stolen, which were correct positions. I pulled up a Youtube video to hear him speak, and in 2023 he said that Trump was the only president to do anything for the Jews (lol): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1zIUheek7w . His political views appear to be culture-war level, pretty garden variety populism except seen through the prism of religious (reform) Judaism (most Orthodox Jews support Trump, Israel supports Trump, but 70-75% of American Jews voted for Kamala).

Interested in Mamet's sparkling dialogue on the written page, I picked up his "The Wicked Son: Anti-Semitism, Self-hatred, and the Jews" (2006). The selection choice should be PRETTY OBVIOUS based upon some of the criticisms I've received here.

Unfortunately it's not a well written book; it's disjointed, meandering and confused, basically disconnected rant chapters of a couple pages each, and it did not contain the sparkling language I was expecting. I don't think it was edited much. The book's focus was (1) calling secular left-wing Jews who supported Palestine over Israel self-hating and (2) arguing that Jews did absolutely nothing to earn the hate that the gentiles heaped on them, that Jews are total victims. This is a strange argument to make, betraying a blind spot lack of introspection, that it still surprises me when I see this stance from supposedly smart people - Maurice Samuel did the same thing in "You Gentiles". As part of this argument he argued for blank slatism, that group stereotypes do not have *any* basis in reality and that to believe otherwise is unhinged racism (lol). He spent a lot of time comparing Jews to blacks, who he also thought were blank slatist victims of white society, and he assigns the Holocaust a level of almost reverence and sacredness, pure belief in the official narrative. The blank slatist stuff almost made me put the book down because it was front-loaded in the book and frankly retarded. The publication date, 2006, was smack in the era of GWB and the global war on terror, pre-Obama, and I did make some allowances for him given this, but it doesn't look like he's evolved past the cultural war stuff in 2023 based on the above video.

His attacks on leftist secular Jews are accurate - they aren't pro-Palestinian for the most part but anti-Israel, where they possess some sort of unaddressed death wish and immature rebellion against daddy - but he doesn't address the elephant in the room: why should gentiles in the West support Israel at all? Why should they care about the conflict? The opposite of philo-semitism is not anti-semitism but not caring about Israel at all - cut it loose and let them fend for themselves, don't take either side.

Because the book was culture-war level and mostly focused on leftist apostates from the Jewish religion, it really didn't address the type of criticisms that I levy (although it briefly mentioned the Protocols): that the vast majority of Jews have instinctual hatred of the goyim, that majority hatred is a *good* thing for the Jews because it helps prevent assimilation (the "silent Holocaust"), and that the Rothschilds and other central bank owners use this blind Jewish hatred as a bulwark between themselves and the majority society they're financially raping. I'm not sure based on his blind spots that he would be capable of responding to these allegations in a manner that would be worthy of serious consideration.

I don't really feel the need to read more of his work given how bad this one was. I have slight interest in seeing if his opinions have evolved much since 2006 - XO's views have changed radically - but based on the above video and also the terrible titles of most recent published books - The Diary of a Porn Star by Priscilla Wriston-Ranger: As Told to David Mamet With an Afterword by Mr. Mamet (2019), Recessional: The Death of Free Speech and the Cost of a Free Lunch (2022), Everywhere an Oink Oink: An Embittered, Dyspeptic, and Accurate Report of Forty Years in Hollywood (2023) - this is all culture war level stuff that I don't think will deepen my knowledge much, so will skip.

I will watch more of his films though.
