I know for a fact he wasnt using plants, because I knew the students pulled onstage were my classmates. He would "hypnotize" them and have them acting like chickens, dancing in discos, etc etc.
It was not as if they became automatons or zombies, insofar as Im sure they were still "conscious" and merely uninhibited or something, but he nonetheless had them performing at his beck and call. And there was not one failure, when I imagine there would be a certain social incentive to stand there and say "fuck off, dude, Im not going to walk like a chicken."
