Video game addiction is real and prevalent but look at why that cope exists vs its impact against other forms of it and it's suddenly a lot more sympathetic I'm saying it's de facto prohibited and the powers that be aren't going to let the socius progress generationally to the conclusions that it needs to for reasons that have to do with 1. legibility and 2. control (and a decent amount of vanity too, if we're being honest about it). The old models are cancerous and suffocating and we all feel it yet "they" have made it clear that they'd rather just inflict violence and reformatting via trauma onto the younger part of the populace rather than having to adapt, power-share, or lose degrees of control There was never any hope for Millennials and probably Zoomers too. The yoke is too tight and the means too baked in to the system. The best bet is to stop paying into it and let it wither away enough to a point where territory can actually be reclaimed and turned into things that sustain life locally |
