Tiptoeing around obvious truths is what allowed the recent scams to fester. Much like the UK Grooming Gang scandals, accusations of racism and Islamophobia allowed criminal activity to persist where it would have been stamped out had the perpetrators been in the demographic majority. Ironically, the claims of Islamophobia here actually make people more resentful of Muslims.
