They’re setting up right outside the store now.
Tents, shopping carts, a grill that looks like it was salvaged from a junkyard. Customers complain, but I just nod and say, “We’ll look into it.” We won’t.
Today, a man wandered in barefoot, grabbed a can of soup, and walked out. No one stopped him. I didn’t even try. What’s the point? We’re all just clinging to what’s left, pretending this place isn’t falling apart.
