Date: October 13th, 2024 8:26 AM Author: trip duck-like plaza During his first term Trump was very reluctant to take real action (drop bombs) in places like Syria. I think he bombed empty buildings in Syria on two occassions during his term. He did kill Solemani in Iraq but it was after Iran droned Saudi Arabia and shot down the Global Hawk so he felt he had to finally do something. I think Trump will act in the same way during the second term, lots of rhetoric v. limited action.
Biden/Harris is another kind of illusion. He leaves the impression of putting restraints on Israel like delaying the delivery of bombs but doesn't really take any meaningful action to limit Israeli actions beyond stern warnings not to do it again and Biden readily sends US troops to backup Israel. The same thing will likely continue under Harris. It's likely Harris will drag us into the big war because there will be less public opposition than in the case of Trump. |
