Constant notifications. Constant messages asking to hang out and other nonsense. Constant event invites. I have three messaging apps, plus two email accounts (work and personal), it's totally overwhelming. I ditched work email after hours and turned off notifications/message count on my iPhone mail app, but FB messages, texts and iMessages are still driving me nuts.
What to do? I wish I could turn off texts entirely one day a week. It's not even about how many messages I get, though it is way too many -- it's just the mere fact that I can be contacted at any time. I use the Do Not Disturb mode in the evenings and that helps, but not enough. Makes it hard to focus on my own plans for evenings and weekends and on personal goals when people are always messaging me about bright shiny things. (and BRUNCH, jesus, always BRUNCH)
And the worst is the 1 - 2x a month when a girl who doesn't realize I'm gay starts trying to hang out, LEAVE ME ALONE, I DO NOT WANT YOUR FLOWER
