We acknowledge that we are gaming today on an accumulation of unplayed titles, assembled through generations of discounts, bundles, hoarder impulses, and misplaced optimism. We pay respect to the backlog holders like Doodikoff and OYT who came before us, and to those currently maintaining vast and carefully curated libraries of games they fully intend to begin after finishing just one more run of the same familiar favorite.
We recognize the privilege that has allowed some of us to enjoy access to expansive digital storefronts, reliable internet, sufficient storage, functioning hardware, and enough financial flexibility to say "I already own that" about games we have never once opened. We commit to carrying this awareness forward with humility, gratitude, and absolutely no intention of reducing the backlog in any meaningful way.
