But it’s hard to get invested at all.
Pretty much the entire <30 tech scene in America is East/South Asian. If we win, many more of these types will be centimillionaires/billionaires. So sure, great, “we” win, but we’re just ruled by a new caste of degenerate homegrown chinamen and pajeets.
I’d care if we weren’t already flooded. I’d care if Nvidia, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, or OpenAI were run by American Christians.
But they aren’t.
It’s not our guys at the top of these institutions. They’re mostly foreigners. I can hardly spell their names without checking. “Sundar Pichai” ? “Satya Nadela” ? Likewise, spanning into the middle and bottom layers of these orgs, it’s not really us. So who’s winning here, and why should I/we care?
I think the Chinese are a very buglike civilization, I agree with BAP, I certainly don’t want to be ruled by them, but also I don’t love how mediocre and buglike many parts of our country have become, especially in Silicon Valley.
To be honest, I’m just not sure I’m that invested in Sam Altman winning.
