i think pre-islamic arabia wasn't a particularly literate society though, there isn't much in the way of records from tribes and states documenting what life in the region was like in the period before muhammed and the conquest of the caliphates

neither the persians or the byzantines really had much of a presence in the region and the earlier romans considered it to be of too little importance or trade value to conquer
