Ghastly method of conveyence. Won’t be doing that again anytime soon.

even in rush hour you hadn't taken the subway in the past 15 yrs? 2010 subway was still safe; that was before gay libs totally destroyed the city

I'm not worried about it being unsafe, it's just filthy and you're cheek to jowl with proles. Where am I going at rush hour?

Although I believe you, I find this surprising.

Depending on your specific origin point and destination, and the specific time of day, it is often SIGNIFICANTLY faster to take the subway in MFH. (Eg. going from UES or UWS down to SOHO during rush hour)

Even a filthy mud-creature thudnerdome subway ride is preferable to taking a 25 minute longer trip in a car. Obviously that's a matter of preference, but time always has to be considered most precious.

Anywhere I have to go during the day from the southern tip of Manhattan to anywhere below say 100th street, i'll walk. If I'm going out at night and i'm dressed nicely i'll take a cab or an uber. I'm not generally in a hurry.

Walking around MFH is 180, especially in nice weather. I wouldn't want to do it in the rain, and I wouldn't want to do it in July/August when it's a sauna outside. Fortunately for you, you're over in Cote d'Azur and among the many diamonds of the Aegean Sea at that time of year.

I've lived here my whole life, I just think I took the subway to a Yankee game about 15 years ago.

Huh. I understand a man of your means can take uber blacks or whatever all the time but I guess I liked the subway (on certain lines, at certain times) as it was often just easier, more predictable, and less aggravating, than car traffic

I mean like I said unless i’m head out for the eve in which case I will take a car, I usually walk. Nothing in MFH is that far.
