But what I've found is that it's still a competitive hiring market for people who actually know what they're doing. They sometimes treat me like a safety school and accept my offer while continuing to interview in the couple of weeks before they start, then back out before their start date. A recruiter for a terribly mediocre in-house job seeking 12+ years experience told me they got 300+ applicants in the first few days, dozens of which came via referrals from current employees. If even 20% of those are quality candidates, that's 60+ quality candidates.
There is not much hiring, and the offers they're sending out match the imbalance between supply and demand. |
