Date: June 21st, 2025 12:19 AM Author: Talented violet hospital Anthony Fantano here, the internet's busiest music nerd. I really enjoy Sombr's debut record here. I'm giving it a strong 8. There's lush textures, nuggets of sonic joy and a backdrop of his incredibly heart-wrenching vocals. I was really blown away but this cut and I'm excited to see what he does in the future when he gets more songs written for him by his Jewish family members who work at Warner.
*cue dozens of simultaneously launched thinkpieces on his album by the new yorker, buzzfeed, wapo, slate, pitchfork, rolling stone etc. in rapid succession so his record is the 'song of the summer'* |
