It is just sujective and there is no criteria. I wouldn't nominate Missy Elliot or Iron Maiden, maybe you would. You can find critics on either side of most nominees. Also, they are going to end up nominating every act because R&R is dying and almost dead. Of course, what will happen is they will eventually be forced to nominate acts that aren't rock acts in the least like Selena Gomez and shit. Sounds like they are already at that point.

But also, who cares? it's not like sports where the measure of greatness is so easy to quantify since every player plays within the same set of rules and has the same goals (e.g. scoring points, defending and winning championships).
They'd be better off making it a tongue-in-cheek museum with annual performances just to celebrate music and give out lifetime achievement awards. |
