Films that aren’t just straight-up streaming slop have extremely overly complicated financing done by High Losers like xoentlaw. So if Warner Bros or Disney are just the “distributor” of a shit Film they may or may not take the financial hit. Rather a bunch of random Losers and rich idiots would.
“Studio execs” aren’t like the alpha Jockgineer CEOs making $280,000,000k. Many are just Losers and Jews who suck at their jobs. Don’t let the word “executive” fool you.
Companies like Warner Bros are just circling the drain basically, probably doomed to be bought by “big tech” at some point. JMO, FWIW.

it's the "we just don't know how to do it anymore" meme except it's actually true and real
they're literally incapable of making good products anymore. it's a human capital issue

of course, part of it is "they don't know how to do it anymore," but the more important piece is that the "they" changed. in the past the industry was nepotistic, but I'd say starting around 20-25 years ago, hires were either 1) nepotism, or 2) DEI/minority hires, whereas before that it was a mix of nepotism and actual talent.
you see this in writers rooms - 80% of them are made up of obvious DEI hires, and the other 20% is obviously people with connections who may be, but probably aren't due to the rarity of real skill, talented.
I'm most clued into the publishing industry, where a similar thing happened around 25-30 years ago, and now you see what a pipeline issue looks like after it has matured - no ability to sell books outside of political and celebrity memoirs. this has led to a perpetually shrinking workforce, wages that stagnated at mid-2000's level ($45-50k in NYC), and a smaller and smaller number of unit sales and shrinking readership
