That is actually what happened to the middle east and levant and north africa before Islam was created. It used to be the breadbasket of the byzantine empire filled with prosperous christians and they turned it all into desert through poor stewardship.
Texas has almost no real wilderness it's just scrub brush and rangeland. It's on that path. You can't live in a wasteland and have any real hopes & dreams. |
