Literally none of this is "interesting" or (on a long term timescale) "matters" in any meaningful way. I'm barely even paying attention to any of this and I'm certainly not losing any sleep over it, because this crash is just more of the same and frankly in terms of proportionate losses so far it's still far from being the "worst" crypto has ever experienced. I wasn't tempted to sell any of my BTC at $125k, so who the fuck cares what price trajectory it takes between now and when it inevitably hits $1,000,000 at some point in the future and I finally start considering selling some of it? The only mildly interesting part would be if it crashed low enough that I was actually tempted to load up on more (which is possible but very unlikely) -- and we're still far away from retracing to my current cost basis in BTC, so I'm not particularly tempted to do that either right now, either.

The only remarkable thing is that somehow we're still having this discussion in 2026. "No, trust me, this time [10th time or whatever] is TRULY different [let's pretend I didn't say the exact same thing the previous 9 times and then end up getting blown the fuck out]... trust me, I know these things [even though I've literally been proven definitively wrong on every other prior occasion when this happened and my only excuse now is 'well that was different for reasons so that doesn't count' even though that has literally been my only excuse every other time, as well]."

- BTC is either going to continue to rise on a long time scale and eventually hit $1,000,000+ at some point in the future (by which I mean while we're likely to be alive and able to benefit from holding it as an asset), or that won't happen. That's ultimately a binary "yes" or "no" proposition, and we will live to definitively find out who was objectively correct and who was objectively incorrect in making that prediction.

- If you think it will probably happen and you don't already hold lots of BTC, now is a great time to buy. So is $40k, if it drops that low. So is $80k, if you wait and it recovers to some degree before you pull the trigger. You bag a longterm 10x+ return at all of those price levels, which is objectively a fantastic outcome for any speculative asset. The only real "lose" scenario in that timeline is not buying BTC at any of those prices because you kept vacillating on the margins. (If I had a dime for everyone I know who vacillated themselves into not buying BTC in 2015 because "what if it goes back down to $80..." or in 2018 because "well it might crash back down to $8k..." or whatever, and ended up never buying any BTC at any price as a result of being unable to just shut the fuck up and pull the trigger, I would be even richer from that pile than I am from the BTC I pulled the trigger on back in the day.)

- If you think it probably won't happen, then IMO you shouldn't buy BTC period at any of those prices. Just stay out of this game entirely and invest your cash in other assets that you have more confidence in. That's totally fine and I don't judge anyone for making that call, even if I think they're very wrong and shortsighted in their underlying assessment of the ultimate speculative investment value of BTC.

- I'm obviously in the first camp, and the only reason I'm not currently "buying the dip" is because I got in so early that I would send by cost basis skyrocketing if I bought right now, plus my stack is already big enough that adding more incremental BTC at the current price doesn't make sense from either an expected marginal return rate perspective or an overall risk spreading / diversification perspective vis-a-vis what I'm already holding. Sure, and someday "houses" as we understand them today might be rendered irrelevant because we will simply exist and live in a totally different fashion. We might also do away with "the stonk market" as we currently understand it at some point. Those are both legitimate possibilities in the future.

Notwithstanding those possibilities, I would say that IMO continuing to invest in real estate and stonks remains a pretty solid bet for the foreseeable future.
