Like many places there is general hesitancy and Finance department panties twisting because of the SPS Trump economy, but they just followed up this morning with a “keeping me warm” email. Basically can’t stop fantasizing about telling manager and GC I’m quitting and it’s now impossible to get anything done. Weirdly agonizing moment, and was curious if any of my XO brethren have ever had a similar experience. Last time I quit it was the opposite, ie I was trying to make sure I didn’t screw over my friends on my old team and my boss, who was a mediocre boss at best, but a very good dude separate from work. I don’t even dislike my current boss, but GC is a moron and it would be so glorious to have him beg me to stay, string him along a bit so he really embarrasses himself, then tell him to go fuck himself and do nothing for a month before new job would start.
