His book is all this stuff about how "he's a crazy motherfucker who can't quit" because he was fat and out of shape and then decided to enter some 3 day, 300 mile race through Death Valley and details his journey of how many times he wanted to quit, etc, but he just taped his bloody feet up and kept going. Then he brags about how every one of his stunts ends with him in the hospital for days and then fighting off some injury for months - and even though it isn't fully healed he then does some 500 mile race through Antarctica - because he's a tough motherfucker!!!

What goes unsaid is that he's using up a ton of hospital resources, gets divorced multiple times, and is presumably an absentee father - while really not accomplishing anything - he's just doing this shit for his own vanity.

He always loosely ties his events to "military fundraising" but like there's no fans or purpose to these events. There's no value in him doing 4,000 pullups and his third wife having to care for him for weeks as his bloody hands heel or whatever.
