Can’t tell you what it’s like to be gay and a lawyer. But anyone who would tell you that you should consider your position in bed when deciding a career is a moron. Being submissive sexually doesn’t take away from your ability, if you wanna be a lawyer be one!
Any guy who would be threatened by you having a good job is BELOW you. Don’t worry about them.

there are some guitar forums that I follow where people go to insane lengths - like one guy really like Les Paul Custom guitars (not Custom Shop, but the Custom line).
So he bought 25 of them in different colors, but sometimes multiple of the same color. These are $3-6k per guitar.
Seen the same thing on Ibanez guitar forums, where some guy spent six figures on a shit load of guitars made in Indonesia

Audiophile stuff is insanely aspie, I don't think anything can touch it.
I'm debating going to AXPONA next month, it's an audio show in Chicago where they set up expensive stereos in ~200 rooms. About 10k people attend. I want to experience whether I can hear a worthwhile difference in all this gear that I've spent too much time reading about.
I suspect the answer is 'No'. I've heard of people going to these shows and coming away underwhelmed. I definitely do not have golden ears - my ears are kinda shit for my age.

There's a much wider variety of stuff at these shows. I'm aware they aren't often going to be set up as well as a retailer, but there are just so many more systems to hear.
The most specific thing I want to hear is the new JBL 4369 (https://www.audioholics.com/tower-speaker-reviews/jbl-4369-monitor ). I want to hear if the whole horn/big woofer combo pays off in dynamics. I haven't heard that many horns but I've liked the few that I have.
High end retailers are SPS here in the Twin Cities. Many of them are by appointment only, which sucks because I am not really in the market right now and I am not going to waste someone's time.

its not even whether they're set up well, but whether you'd even have the opportunity to sit down and listen critically at a show. theres too many people and they're not going to let you monopolize something to the point youd be able to hear a difference at this level.
dont worry about wasting someones time. the fact you're even concerned about this tells me you're less autistic and more considerate than the average high end audiophile. if you're not a dreamer and already own stuff close to this level, you are not wasting anyone's time giving them the opportunity to earn your business.
cant give you any practical advice here, usually when audiophile shit comes up the questions are pretty basic, but my knowledge is woefully outdated at your level now. high end jbls are great speakers, much moreso than most high end brands which are just purchased components in a fancy cabinet. im sure theres a measurable difference, but whether it "pays off" is subjective. but if you're gonna drop $20k on speakers you are definitely not wasting anyone's time listening to them.

you're still not wasting anyones time. i will tell you as someone who was a salesman that i wouldnt have felt demoing that for you was a waste of time.
i might subtly indicate that to challenge you to buy it, though.
don't worry about it brother. just go listen to the speakers.
