for its time yes it was light years ahead of the gameboy in both graphics and sound superiority but it cost much more and had less recognizable games

had a friend who had one it was 180

I blame game gear for destroying it, the market could only support one or the other. it's a shame because game gear was just gameboy with color and didn't have the cool sprite scaling capabilities of the lynx.

cr the game gear was actually pretty TTT, the Lynx was closer to a portable Genesis w its technology but neither could take on the Gameboy

They for some bizarre reason made it huge (it could have been much smaller) and it chewed through batteries which was a huge issue back then when you still used AA batteries. The Gameboy won the generation despite being less advanced pretty much on battery life.

Also, it had No Games.

Lynx sucked and it was expensive and had no games. The Sega game gear pwned the everliving fuck out of it. I preferred GG to game boy because you could use it at night in a car or on airplanes without needing a gay ass screen light. But gameboy did win the gen.

The Atari jaguar would come a few years later and claim to be the first 64 bit system, but it really had 2 32 bit processors and NO GAMES either. And a weird ass uncomfortable controller. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1e/Atari-Jaguar-Pro-Controller-Flat.jpg/1474px-Atari-Jaguar-Pro-Controller-Flat.jpg I mean what the fuck were they thinking?

I wasn't a complete gamer like most in this thread; just a casual Gameboy fanboi subscribing to Nintendo Power like literally everybody else in those days. You'd see pictures of the Lynx in gamer mags or sometimes behind the counter available for sale and it seemed like an exotic curiosity. $100 back then was like $2500 today.

i was fascinated that ATARI made a kind of comeback out of nowhere in the early 90s. it was like Betamax coming back suddenly. they also had several arcade-only titles, Pit Fighter and Hard Driving, that were super popular around the same time. i never played the Lynx. i rarely played video games, but did own a basic bitch SNES.

They ruined it with the Jaguar. It had too many bits. They flew too close to the sun.
