There's pretty serious grade inflation because people hate being told they have a "Very Bad" credit score. 22% of the country has an 800+ and only 27% has fair or poor. 680 technically scores as "good" but there's a huge difference between that and 800. Same reason the LSAT scale is 120 to 180 actually, nobody wants to say they got "5" on the LSAT, but if you say 125 the other proles at the bait store don't know what's happening.

lol @ "the but medical debt" reveal. Yes, of course people with debt in collections have lower credit scores. One of the most relevant factors in your credit score is whether other people who have extended you credit actually got paid. I am sure if you checked these areas are also more likely to have car and credit card debt.
