These were moderate and temperate years. The economy was doing well. There was little real "right wing violence" and even the pet cultural projects of libs were protected. Have libs gone so far up their own propaganda hole that they have actually come to believe that this man is some kind of Hitler? Nothing happened. The country basically runs itself as long as you have a decent executive who actually likes the country and performs the necessary rites in charge.
Very little about this actually makes sense. The election was stolen and in the interests of "giving it a chance" and "preserving our democracy" average right wingers just let it slide to wait for the next cycle.

i backslide often myself, but the way out is this:
most humans are entirely unconcerned with truth, and find truth-seeking to be a threatening anti-social behavior
this is bc most humans are essentially consensus-seekers. We depend on pre-existing social hierarchies to receive the dogma from on high, and then ruthlessly enforce consensus around this dogma, whatever it may be. We intuit our place in the social hierarchy and maintain our tribe by religious tests around the consensus.
Once you remind yourself of the above, you quickly stop being surprised by partisan idiocy, by the promulgation of obvious untruths, and by the primal drive to maintain consensus and tribe. "Truth" and "rationality" are completely unimportant

this is how you experienced it
libs experienced it as a constant cacophony of threats and crises. this was mediated entirely through msnbc and shareblue tweets and not any "objective" evidence per se but it was real to them
f.e. you likely remember the Kavanaugh two front doors saga as this retrospectively comical dog and pony show of absurdity but to devoted libs it was very VERY real and there is literally a serial rapist on the Supreme Court right now probably committing a rape as we speak. what's more he was put there by a cabal of people who *knew* him to be a rapist, based on uncontrovertible damning evidence, and laughed it off. this may all sound like I am joking "ljl @ libs" but you have to put yourself in their heads.

Trump’s economy was the long tail after Obama’s half assed and weaksauce post ITE stimulus. Trump caused nearly all of the inflation we experienced for the last three years with the godawful CARES Act and his very shitty tax cut that spiked buybacks, ballooned the deficit and forced a flight of capital into hyper speculative assets like crypto and meme stocks. His proposals for his second term are just fundamentally retarded and awful, and anyone with a college degree who votes for him this year is presumably either 1) a sub 95 IQ retard who managed to get friends to write papers for him/her or 2) assuming he’s full of shit and will never get anything passed/will be boxed in by Congress and his donors. Trump is mostly a SPS source of economic policy, and most of what he says about it and specifically his most populist material (eg “I will keep this factory here”) is blatant flame to trick non-college/95 IQ white boomers in the Midwest and if you genuinely believe what he says about it you’re stupid and he’s tricking you too. The only economic policy he actually cares about is tax cuts for rich people, see eg the only major piece of legislation he managed to pass with a GOP trifecta.
His foreign policy was entirely premised on guzzling down as many gallons of Bibi’s semen as Bibi could squirt in his general direction. 10/7 would not have happened but for Jared LARPing as Secretary of State and Trump perfecting his technique of holding Bibi’s entire sack in his mouth while also using his index finger to digitally stimulate Bibi’s prostate. Not to mention how preposterous it is for any Trumpmo to claim Trump did anything other than encourage and cheer on Putin in Ukraine and everywhere else.
Trump’s China policies were excellent and transformative for US politics. We all owe him our thanks for his determination to defy the DC consensus and stay the course until the results were clear and the DC establishment was forced to come around. He also had many (not all, but many) policies on border security that were critical correctives and huge Overton Window shifts that will benefit the country for decades to come. That said, his overall record on immigration is at best a mixed bag (though more good than bad by median DC politics standards), because his execution was so often terrible and clumsy and he would regularly hand libs a stick to beat him with.
Overall he was a historic figure in terms of US political discourse and changing the salience and realm of policy possibility on a few extremely important issues, but he was shit at executing his vision and that’s why his POTUSy was a mediocre disappointment.
