Not a great year for him to be the Dem standard bearer and if she loses or wins but then sucks and struggles and gets wrecked in the midterms he would be 1a or 1b with Whitmer if she looks like a sure loser in 2028. And even if she wins and gets re-elected (which she won’t) he is well positioned to be AG or the like and use that as a platform to run later.
