Someone recommended it as a dissident film, I watched it blind without seeing info on it or a trailer other than I knew it involved cannibals.
This film reminded in a sense of There Will Be Blood, because I kept waiting to understand what the point of the film was and where the payoff would be. Instead, I still didn't know what the point was at the end, and the payoff was minor. It's not a dissident film in any sense of the word, but there's also no message - the wife of the main character gets abducted by cannibal Indians and a small rescue party goes to rescue her. They kill some cannibals who are brutal, the end.
There's no point to this movie, even the horrors are pretty few and far between.
It wasn't *terrible*, but I think it has almost no rewatchability and I'd give it a 3/10. I kind of liked Matthew Fox's performance and there was one particularly gruesome cannibal scene.
