before that it was mayweather versus pacquiao. somewhat of a joke fight as pacquiao was past his prime, but at least two legit boxers. that was back in 2015.
has mma usurped boxing permanently at this point? why would anyone getting into a professional combat sport choose boxing over mma? |

I feel like this might apply for guys that can still headline a ppv card, but is that more than like two or three guys anymore? Canelo, Terrence Crawford, Tyson Fury seem like the only ones to me. With no HBO, who is paying big money for anyone else?

we should reward bravery and forgive losses as fans and support fighters in defeat. |

People also like the storylines and rivalries. We have a crop of young American fighters all around the same weight and barely any of them fight each other. Tank Davis, Teofimo Lopez, Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia.
It feels like a huge wasted opportunity not to have a tournament where all these guys fight each other. |

There are legitimate fights and there are spectacle type fights. In legitimate boxing it's really a wasteland right now. There really aren't any extremely compelling personalities or stories. I've been pretty into boxing for almost 15 years and i've nearly lost all interest in it.
The next big fight coming up is Usyk vs Fury 2. Really not a fight that sparks much interest in the US.
