And not only have those stated and implied objectives gone unachieved, the US has alienated its allies, strengthened its enemies, and destroyed the facade of invincibility that much of its "diplomacy" depends on. It's a fucking disaster |

The negotiations were used to trick the Iranians into thinking there was a diplomatic solution. They offered concessions far beyond the 2015 Obama deal. We bombed them anyway which is a war crime. Witkoff reached out to them a couple weeks ago and they ghosted him. I don't know how you can dismiss the rest as hyperbole (allies refusing to help, Russia being allowed to sell oil, China getting tons of tape on us and our poor tactics, etc.), but since you disagree without any actual points, I guess you're right and I'm wrong |

Israel will NEVER have another crack at this, they've been dreaming about a war with Iran for 40+ years. Any attempts by the Trump administration to reduce the mission will be rebuffed and Israel will go to ever greater lengths to pull America into a deeper war. You're seeing it already with their rogue attacks on natural gas facilities that they don't even bother to run by Trump. They will do whatever they can to drag this out and while they know that Trump cannot currently withstand a ground invasion they know that the longer this continues and the longer the regime is able to hold on despite the illegal assassinations they are currently performing, the more open he will be to doing just that.
Both Iran and the USA are held hostage by Israel. |

We also need to tell them that we will take up arms against them if they use nuclear weapons
Maybe the only better way out of this is for Iran to run low enough on drones and missiles (or its ability to launch them) that it decides to pursue an end, but that doesn't seem to be in our control without boots on the ground |

Hormuz is still closed and there’s nothing the US or Israel can do to force it to reopen or ensure safe passage. As long as Iran says they’ll continue to fire on tankers that will be enough to keep it closed. The only way out of this is to negotiate a ceasefire, and there’s little chance of that happening after the US killed their POTUS and a bunch of schoolgirls.
