In the Middle Ages in Europe, only 2 religions were legal, Christianity & Judaism, everything else was outlawed. Christians used Jews as the controlled opposition foil. If you criticized Christianity you were accordingly criticized as a Jew, as everything else was outlawed. The Nazis just heightened the contradictions of Christian Anti-Semitism as centralized Church structures had weakened under Secularism. The irony is that a complete holocaust would destroy Christianity by destroying Judaism as Jews are essential to fulfilling Christian prophecy. That's why the Churches became so pro-Jewish after WW2, but because Christianity can no longer can use the Christian Anti-Semitism card, this opened the door to Atheists directly attacking Christianity more effectively which in turn weakened Christianity.
Without the Judeo-Christian Dynamic, Jews would have been some random Middle Eastern tribe that would've been destroyed in some retarded tribal feud in the region. The best case scenario is that they would've been reduced to some marginalized state like Mandeans/Samaritans. |
