Yes, they are dead, but it is more because of the job market rather than AI directly. The market is flooded with new grads and there are very few junior job openings. Bootcampers can no longer compete.
AI is making this worse, of course, but the shift happened in 2022 back when we only had the original copilot autocomplete.
