i bought a herman miller embody and returned it b/c it was not comfortable
on the other hand, i use a haworth fern every day and i plan on getting one when my current chair breaks
the last few chairs ive had were amazon basics high back executive office chairs and they were pretty good. my main complaint was they break after 4-5 years.

I have this, with the tri flex back: https://store.hermanmiller.com/office-chairs-ergonomic-chairs/mirra-2-chair/100612201.html?lang=en_US&sku=100612201
I like it more than the Aeron. The back is nicer than the canvassy Aerson back.
As others have said, you should go to a store and sit in the various chairs before buying. I got mine at a used office furniture store, which had lots of different chairs to try and was much cheaper than buying new.

Now THAT's what I call scholarship, Thank!
Don't know many rich people IRL outside of XO (living vicariously through old money moderately athletic 6'5 Autoadmit pumos is one of my favorite hobbies, dare I say even at times bordering on a comprehensive lifestyle) so this is 180 actionable advice
(do IRL leisure classmos like golden retriever cosplay? asking for a friend)

I'm copping an aeron remastered from HM sale with Atlas headrest. Just need to decide between regular or onyx
The eames office chair looks like some 1980s quack office shit. The actual eames chair with ottoman (like on Shark Tank) would be a nice addition tho

avoid gaming chairs or online DTC companies. some of the latter can be decent but don't have the reliability and track record of a herman miller or steelcase. if something goes wrong with a DTC chair, good luck fixing or repairing it.
at a job in the 2000s, i had a steelcase chair from the 80s. it was perfectly functional and comfortable 20+ years later. they replaced chairs and i took the steelcase home. used it for another 10 years.
