Seems like they scanned the place where the bombs were placed for cell phone pings and then cross-referenced those against credit card data for those phones, and found one that they determined purchased parts that could be used for a bomb?
How is it legal to have your financial records searched simplify because your phone pinged off a tower in DC around the time someone may have placed pipebombs nearby?
Maybe I’m missing something, and I’m glad they found who did this, but it seems like a gross violation of the 4th amendment. |
