But I would say Get Out is a much better movie though it’s far more campy and less ambitious and self-righteous (though nonetheless plenty woke in its own right). So it’s also getting a huge bump from Hollywood overall just for being a non-IP derived original that’s for adults and isn’t an attempt to become a franchise. It’s the catalyst/a major cornerstone of the WB studioheads’ self-aggrandizing narrative of the year that all the trades have been pushing for the last few months, eg Matt Belloni just named them his industry “heroes of 2025” or some shit to that effect. And that level of industry bias in your favor is like 20x a standard issue AA boost for any given movie or show.
