"Three Body Problem" series is a lot better if you read up on the premise first

I remember trying to watch it cold, knowing nothing about the basic premise (aliens planning to invade earth and stop scientific progress until they get here) and wondering "what the fuck is this movie talking about?" Seemed like it was just random shit happening and I gave up on it.
Started re-watching it on Netflix after reading the synopsis on Wiki and now it seems really good- there's a method to the madness.

The Three Body Problem series should have been adapted as films. The TV show is an abomination. Could have been as big as Project Hail Mary if done right
