Mortal Kombat with blood, corpse killer, primal rage, night trap, and so much more Iirc they skipped the congressional hearings on violent games. They were too cool and badass to show up when summoned by congress. Or at least I can only find footage of the Nintendo hearings.

My, my, how things have changed. Nintendo fans are mocking Sony fans relentlessly for their lack of exclusives afaik, and Xbox now is all but beneath contempt. They only respect Steam as an equal. Winning the gen will do that to you. No one makes fun of Nintendo atm. Even kids who were Cool in hs and mocked Gamecube irl are acting like they were Cube fans all along. But we die-hards know the truth. the same people who mocked us and called us things I can't say here have become poseurs. And their day of reckoning will come someday. But for now we can take solace that we, the hardcore fandom, have been to hell and back with Nintendo and we are the most ride or die fandom of any product/service ever imho.

UMC kids mostly had SNES. Like 10-1 ratio of SNES to genesis owners. And the genesis owners all had the same handful of Titles - altered beast, 1-2 sonic games, a phantasy Starr that they never played, and like a madden game. Maybe mortal kombat because it had blood. That’s it - the rest of the Library was completely ignored. |
