Critics did not like mandatory open world bloat/slop which hurt the momentum of the game, added hours of playtime, and distracted from the good stuff. Many critics also did not care for chatty companions and snarky marvel style humor which they found annoying and out of place. Many comparisons to Jar Jar Binks were made. |

It was a "soulslike" fps because you had to backtrack and could get lost. You had to read walkthroughs and look at maps online.
Now its probably dumbed down for mexican gamers with pathways painted on the floor and easy AF |

Imagine a world where "Metroid" was a random PS game. Try to imagine how you would have reacted to it. It would be in the bottom of a bargain bin collecting dust & wouldnt be hailed as this ludonarrative masterpiece by westerners, it would just be a shitty fps and noone would Care about its "atmospheric" themes or any of this grasping at straws etc |
