In general, "engagement" online is a double edged sword. Many things I say on Twitter are extremely inflammatory and would get me banned, harassed, or worse if I had more than my small amount of followers. The best "engagement" I get on Twitter is in the form of private DMs with like minded people who I have connected with via my poasting.
