It takes one CSLG or one Mitch to breakout and earn BEAUCOUP dollars that will serve generations. Imagine if your great grandfather bought a football team. Now we're talking 4-5 gens that haven't worked a day in their lives. There's investing and then there's absolute nepotism. The difference is in the amount of support I guess.

I have an immense amount of respect for anyone who can use their gifts well, though, whether that means building up their own dragon hoard from what they inherited, funding institutions and serving on boards well, art, etc. On the other hand, the creation of culture traditionally largely rests with people who have the leisure to pursue something beyond survival or mundane caring for family. That makes seeing someone solely squandering it on personal pleasures sad, even if I'm sympathetic to wealthy kid burnouts. |

It was class separation. They really don't want to know you. And the reason is simple... Let me make this extremely clear so it's impossible to misunderstand. What separates them from everyone else is... a shitload of money. Seriously. That's what they care about. Being around other people with money so they don't feel like there's any chance they could be taken advantage of. It's to protect their assets at the end of the day. And so they can socialize with other people who have the same standard of living (read: rank hedonism) that they do. They get uncomfortable if you bring up striving to be honest. If someone says oh boy I had to work really hard on something. I had to cut back this month. They freak out, internally. They literally don't get it, and they wouldn't ever want to. Not in a million years. So yeah protecting their assets and social stratification is paramount to them. Again I'm generalizing because I'm sure "somewhere out their in the infinite cosmos" is some richmo whose not like the many I grew up around. But I haven't met that type of richmo in real life who has an ounce of humility so I can only report what on what I know first hand.
