it's when you change the rules get more votes than you would have under an honest system and someone questions it

do you know what it is?

idk wtf "fascism" is. i can't give a real definition of it

i don't think that "fascism" is actually a real, meaningful, precise thing that has a real definition. the most useful and accurate definition of it actually appears to be... "whatever makes libs upset"

it's kind of a bullshit term because it's very historic context specific. it doesn't have much explanatory power outside of describing the 'fascist' euro states of the 30s/40s.

basically just means right wing authoritarian statism as opposed to libertarian small government free market 'conservatism.'

yeah, i agree: it's useful and meaningful only as a term to describe a very specific type of government during a very specific time period in history

there are no "fascist" governments in the world today that are anything like the fascist euro states in the 30s/40s. nor is that sort of thing even possible in the current year. china is the closest by far and even they have very little overlap with how those 20th century euro states worked

I think Hannah Arendt makes a distinction between your typical strong man dictator and a fascist.

Fascism is really Mussolini's gig. State control of a lot of shit but from a right persepctive as opposed to left.(communism as enacted IRL by USSR, China).

hitler made sure property and industry were owned by the people of the nation, ostensibly to benefit the national interest but critics would say to enrich the elite class, ruled with dictatorial power, and was militaristic and expansionist.

stalin nationalized all property, ostensibly to benefit the national interest but critics would say to enrich the elite class, ruled with dictatorial power, and was militaristic and expansionist.

somehow these systems are on completely opposite ends of the ideological spectrum, with fascism = evil and communism = awewsome according to academia.
