Date: December 11th, 2025 9:58 AM Author: carmine nighttime azn mmos have always sucked. they were a novelty that became popular only because of the newness of massively multi-player persistent worlds. and they only endured because they got people hooked on the randomness and false sense of progression. just like chat rooms have faded because people eventually realized they weren't particularly fun or useful. same with segways and tons of gadgets that offer nothing but "wow!" factor. people that grew up with MMOs and online spaxes being everywhere arent wowed by them, and killing trash mobs for hours to grind loot so you can grind different loot to grind different mobs doesnt have enough appeal on its own. the real reason why MMOs started sucking is because WoW choked everyone else out, and so everyone else abandoned the space and no development has happened there for 20 years. in asia, MMOs have been going strong the whole time, because WoW didn't swallow up the market there |
